A few weeks back Lisa Carver, Courtney Dashe and I went to the beach to do a little writing. We got two GREAT songs out of it, and a little R & R.

We just got this demo back for one of the songs, called “Turn The Page”. Can you guess which lyrics were inspired by our surroundings?

On the road with Lee

During the last week of October, I got a few days of what every “emerging” singer-songwriter dreams about: time on the ever-coveted tour bus!! I’ll admit it, there’s something about climbing on that overly tinted, gas-guzzling, glorified motor home that makes an artist feel like they’ve “arrived.” Alas, this bus was not for me…I was just the happy interloper, along for the ride.

For an example of an artist tour bus, watch this video with Kellie Pickler:

Even more coveted than the comfy wheels was the chance to write with country artist/songwriter Lee Brice. This man can sing the pants off any tune, and write the fire out of a song idea. We had a great week, meeting with cool radio folks in Little Rock, Oklahoma City, Kansas City, and Omaha.

Check out Lee’s current single “Love Like Crazy” on here. To learn more about Lee’s crazy adventures you can follow him on twitter.

On Tuesday, I wrote with Courtney Dashe. She’s great & you should check out the tracks from her EP, here. Be sure you listen to “Paper Airplane”–a song she wrote about Alzheimers.

Kelleigh’s new site…

After the success  of the “90 Gigs in 90 Days” blog we started rethinking the concept of a traditional website, and decided to move to a blog based site (ahem, thank you WordPress). You’ll still have a lot of the content from a “normal” site, but the front page will be BLOG. It will also make it really easy to put exclusive content up here…so you’ll always have new exciting things to look at, play with, listen to. What do you think?
